    We are excited to be hiring a new Schools Curriculum Lead to join our fantastic Surrey Arts team. The role may require some evening and weekend work for which time off in lieu may be taken.

    This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in delivering Surrey Music Hub's remit to support and enhance singing in all Surrey schools, and to provide progression routes for young people who develop an interest in all forms of vocal expression including rap and spoken word.

    The post will largely involve working from our office in Guildford and from home.
    26 days' holiday (prorated for part time staff), rising to 28 days after 2 years' service and 30 days after 5 years' service

    We are the lead delivery organisation for the music education hub. We provide music lessons, instrument hire, out of school music centres, activities and ensembles for young people.

    Surrey Arts is the lead partner for the Cultural Education Partnership as well as leading on a range of arts and culture programmes across the county.

    As the Schools Curriculum Lead Teacher, you will help with developing and facilitating a music curriculum support programme to support early years, primary, secondary, special and post-16 schools and other settings.

    It is expected that you will have significant experience of teaching music in at least one of these sectors, and have the broader project management, facilitation and engagement skills to effectively enable support for music in schools across the whole age range.

    In addition to this, you will also be leading on the delivery of key aspects of the National Plan for Music Education including Lead Schools, School Music Development plans, live music opportunities and collaborative music events both locally and county-wide.

    Teaching music in a range of formal educational settings
    Delivering CPD to music teachers, and any experience of facilitating training delivered by others
    Working with diverse groups of young people and/or programmes addressing inequality
    Designing and managing projects in an educational setting
    Networking locally, regionally, and nationally within the music education sector.
    This could be to discuss flexible working requests, transferrable skills or any barriers to employment.
