    Description

    A growing commodities business are looking to hire a senior risk manager to lead their market risk function, reporting directly to the CRO.

    The Function specialises in measuring and analysing market risk and trading performance across a variety of energy products.


    Key Duties and Responsibilities:


    Maintaining and revising risk monitoring reports (market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk) using proficiency in Visual Basic programming or Python.

    Investigating and testing Profit and Loss (P&L), validating trade models, configuring and modelling forward pricing curves.

    Systems and Processes Development:

    Collaborate with technology and quantitative teams to enhance existing risk management systems and create new tools and methodologies for improving risk measurement and reporting capabilities.

    Designing, conducting, and analysing stress tests for Liquidity, Market, and Credit risks.
    Maintaining and enhancing the market risk VaR model, including model backtesting.
    Controlling and releasing new products.


    Requirements:
    Experience in Commodities or FIC market risk
    Experience in Oil, Gas, and Power markets would be preferred
    In-depth product knowledge of Commodities, Commodity derivatives, and associated pricing models.
    Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and VBA.


    Personal Competencies:
    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Good communicator with attention to detail, pro-active, autonomous, and able to summarise effectively.
    Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    Comfortable working with complex technical processes and analysing large data sets.
