- Demonstrate high EHS standards and behaviours for yourself and your co-workers and ensure work is carried out in-line with appropriate risk assessments.
- Evaluate novel hydrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical technologies for the pre-treatment and recovery of precious metals from secondary sources.
- Ability to plan and schedule the required work, generating and interpreting data for assessment of project progress / KPI evaluation, and ensuring regular feedback to stakeholders on progress.
- Be responsible for the delivery of investigations and trials at lab, pilot and plant scale to provide proof-of-concept and scale-up information for the design of new processes.
- Contribute to technology transfer between the development and engineering teams at sites in the UK, Germany and Singapore.
- Degree level qualification in chemistry or a relevant scientific subject with demonstrable development experience or experience in a relevant research and development role.
- Knowledge of hydrometallurgical/pyrometallurgical separation and purification techniques and knowledge of inorganic chemistry
- Excellent project management skills and an ability to work in an environment that necessitates an agile approach to project delivery.
- Highly effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships
- Be self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to technical detail.

As the Development Chemist you will be responsible for leading the development of a suite of novel PGM (Platinum Group Metal) recycling processes.
