    Overview of the role:

    This role is quite unique in Insurance Broking in that the individual will 'own' the entire relationship with each of their allocated clients. This makes for a varied and dynamic role.

    Traditionally this responsibility is split between an Account Executive, an Account Handler and maybe even a Claims Handler but at JCB Insurance we like to do things a little differently.

    The primary focus of the role is to nurture and retain the full portfolio of clients by providing high quality service during the year as well as preparing a competitive annual renewal proposal.

    Main Responsibilities of the Role:

    Client Servicing including :

  • Mid-Term Adjustments ie Additions, Deletions, Amendments
  • Claims Handling including claim reporting, repudiation challenges, claims negotiation
  • Sub-Contractor/Hire insurance checking
  • Contract Checking – typically JCT/CDM/Collateral Warranties
  • Mid-term review / Pre-renewal / renewal meetings with customers at their premises
  • Renewal Broking
  • Renewal Report Writing
  • About You:

    Ideally you will have at least 3 years' experience in Commercial Insurance, preferably with a Broker. Cert CII would be preferred although not essential.

    You will possess excellent interpersonal and broking skills and the ability to quickly build rapport with customers.

    You will be able to understand a customer's business and assess their attitude to risk, then collect all of the relevant information to enable us to put together a renewal proposition that fits their needs as closely and competitively as possible.

    You should have a passion for customer service and the ability to work both independently and as part of a Team.

    You will need a keen eye for accuracy and detail, even when under pressure.

    You should be skilled in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) Knowledge of Open GI would an advantage but certainly not essential.

    Candidates should be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment, flexibility and enthusiasm and well as a sense of urgency and drive to achieve their personal objectives as well as the overall company's goals.
