    This role will provide a great opportunity toinitially spend 2 years rotating across the four PMG investment teams (Private Credit, Direct Private Equity, Private Equity Funds and Property) as a dedicated Analyst for 6 months in each team.

    This will provide the individual with a strong foundation and broad understanding of all aspects of private markets investing, strategy and asset management.

    After the two-year rotation period, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake a secondment with a portfolio company or a blue-chip General Partner ("GP") relationship, before supporting the Private Credit and Property teams as part of a pool of Associates.

    Private Credit, Property and Matching Assets have a broad mandate and invest across the capital structure into real estate, asset backed and corporate opportunities.

    Short duration & return seeking credit: Includes: Fund/NAV based financing, UK secured consumer lending, lending to corporates, residential development finance asset pools and senior lending to esoteric asset pools.

    4bn invested mainly in the UK across the retail, office, industrial, residential and alternative sectors.


    Matching asset strategy:

    Is made up of USS's long duration credit and property assets, targeting inflation and interest rate exposure that hedge USS's scheme liabilities.

    Infrastructure lending (private placement, swap repacking, structured solutions), Sub-Sovereign lending (local authorities, NHS Trusts), Later Life Mortgages, Music and Pharmaceutical Royalties, Structured Settlements and Direct Property investments (ground rent, income strip, shared ownership, sale and leasebacks).

    As a trusted part of the Private Markets you will be responsible for:
    Investment due diligence (quantitative modelling and qualitative analysis of investment opportunities including preparation and review of commercial and financial due diligence and valuation and returns analysis)
    Contributing to origination activities with sector and target research and analysis
    Collaboration with internal stakeholders including tax, investment legal, operational due diligence and compliance
    Post-graduation experience with a background in or serving financial services or real estate, ideally in an investment or advisory context (private credit or private equity, real estate advisory, asset / investment management, investment banking, hedge funds, ratings agency, law or strategy consulting)
    Prior exposure to private credit, infrastructure, property and/or private equity considered advantageous but not a prerequisite for the role
    Critical thinker with strong analytical and numerical skills that can be applied to company valuation and financial analysis
    Ability to work in the UK with occasional travel to Europe, US, Asia and Australia
