The position oversees a shift team in a 24/7 environment and carries a high level of responsibility for the safety and output of those personnel, the position reports directly to the Operations Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe training of shift team staff and continuous development'Safe Systems Of Work' and compliance of contract staff with site rules and working standardsPlant process (is) operating under license / permit from the Environment AgencyResponsible, as senior authorised person, for the issue and control of permits to work including High Voltage (HV)Use CMMS (computerised maintenance management system) to raise and monitor maintenance work ordersEnsure adequate resource to operate the plant safelyPromote and encourage employee developmentREQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCESWe are open to considering applicants from a range of different industry backgrounds, it's not essential to have prior experience in the Waste-to-Energy industry though it can of course be beneficial.
We would however expect suitable applicants to have prior experiences of at least some of the following;A recognised engineering qualification at HNC / ONC level or equivalentISOH or NEBOSH qualification is preferred but not mandatoryExperience in a similar role within the Energy from Waste industry, or similar industry processExperience with a Permit-to-work system (Approved Person experience – preferred)Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislationExcellent written and oral communication skillsPlease note that we do not welcome any agency / 3rd party involvement or approaches on this vacancy until a time we deem to be suitable and at which point we will work with our preferred suppliers only.
