Charity Overview Aerobility is a leading disability charity, based at Blackbushe Airport near Camberley on the Hampshire Surrey border.
Aerobility uses the challenges of flight and exposure to aviation as a tool for improving the lives of those with a disability.
Whatever the age or the disability, be it physical, learning, mental, or an injury acquired in conflict – Aerobility gives everyone the chance to fly and participate in aviation-orientated activities.
Aerobility operates specially adapted aircraft, supporting equipment and specialist instruction to ensure access for all.The charity also acts as a representative body for disabled aviators working with regulators and the aerospace industry to promote access and awareness.
Aerobility believes that everyone should have the right and opportunity to participate in aviation and work hard to remove the barriers that make aviation physically and financially inaccessible for people with disabilities.
With a diverse range of services, including flight training and ground-based education programmes, the organisation works with over 600 people with disabilities every year.
The organisation has a small staff team operating from the main headquarters at Blackbushe and relies on input from volunteers to deliver services and achieve charitable objectives.
With operations from Tatenhill in the Midlands, as well as a number of other airfields across the UK on temporary detachment, Aerobility is currently developing its national coverage and presence.

Together, we can create positive change and build a better future for everyone living with disability.Position OverviewAs a Flight Instructor for Aerobility, you play a crucial role in providing flight experience and training to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Your mission will be to inspire, educate, and empower participants through aviation experiences, fostering a love for flying and opening doors to new possibilities.
Applicants should be aware that we are looking for an experienced and preferably current, unrestricted Flight Instructor - FI(A), who would play a crucial role in providing flight experience and training to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
The goal will be to inspire, educate, and empower participants through aviation experiences, fostering a love for flying and opening doors to new possibilities for people living with a disability.
The role would encompass a flexible part-time roster to work on nominally a negotiated 2-weeks on, 2-weeks off basis (opposite another Instructor roster) or up to 3 days (20 hours) per week primarily from the Blackbushe HQ.
Principal Accountabilities (includes but not limited to):To maintain training standards that include the provision of experience flights, training within the CAA PPL and LAPL syllabus, training for additional ratings, ground-based training such as CAA theory exams, Aviation Education Programme and Aspiring Pilot Programmes for vocational qualifications as defined by Aerobility.
To undertake all flying duties associated with Aerobility, which include trial flight experiences, instructional flights, positioning flights and any other charity flights as required to ensure that appropriate standards and legalities are adhered to.
To participate as required to develop adaptive technology for disabled pilots, such as hoists and hand controls. Challenge existing practices and identify new and better ways of working to accelerate Aerobility towards achieving its strategic outcomes. Ensure services are delivered cost-effectively whilst ensuring that safety standards are not compromised. Ensure that services are delivered in accordance with the Aerobility Safety Management System.Participation in service delivery events, flying days and activities would be welcomed.
Maintenance and provision of a training library, and student records, both electronic and paper, together with updating Aerobility CRM Salesforce flying records.
Attendance at Aerobility events would be really encouraged, not just in a flying capacity but also to support fundraising and representing flight operations to the public and potential sponsors.
Knowledge and skills requirements:
A sound understanding of the CAA regulations.
Experience and knowledge of the PPL syllabus.
A current UK CAA FI(A) licence and a CPL(A).Collaborative working style with a clear focus on delivering outcomes.
Ability to deliver PPL(A) theory effectively to Aerobility students, either one-to-one or on a group basis.
