    Job Title - Homelessness Prevention and Sustainment Services Manager

    Salary Range: £48,600 - £68,241 per annum

    Permanent – Full Time (36Hours)

    Location: Bridas House first floor, 90 Putney Bridge Road, London, SW18 1HR

    At Richmond and Wandsworth Councils our housing options teams are dedicated to early intervention, prevention of homelessness, nurturing robust partnerships, and delivering tailored support.

    About the role:

    • You will lead and manage multidisciplinary teams of professionals providing a front-line housing options and tenancy sustainment service.
    • You will operate in a highly changeable and demanding working environment with multiple competing priorities, ensuring timely and relevant interventions are carried out to prevent escalation of need.
    • You will ensure relevant decisions are made to fulfil Richmond Council's statutory requirements and that legal challenges are responded to in a timely manner.
    • You will lead and support your teams, focusing on key performance indicators and data-driven insights.
    • You will drive continuous service improvements particularly in homelessness prevention and have oversight of quality assurance processes and service improvement initiatives.
    • You will work collaboratively with other Council services and partner agencies to develop and lead initiatives so that residents get the best service and opportunities to live independently and safely in their homes, so they are not at risk of homelessness.

    Skills and experience

    The following are some of the essential skills and experience you will need for this role:

    • Knowledge of relevant and associated legislation across several disciplines including tenancy and homelessness law
    • Experience of managing teams providing a front-line service
    • Experience of performance appraisal and development
    • The ability to identify and achieve high pressure service performance standards and targets.
    • The ability to work well under pressure, in the context of frequently changing priorities and demands.
    • The ability to work effectively as part of the wider management team, fostering a flexible and results driven culture.
    • Excellent communication skills
