    Description

    Senior Test Automation Engineer - Will be put through SC clearance

    Experis are delighted to be working with a government client who are looking for a Senior Automation Software Tester to work on some specialist projects. The individual will be responsible for crafting automated tests, ranging from straightforward to intricate, ensuring adherence to our government client's standards. Collaborating within an agile team, they will take the lead in test automation, advocating for best industry practices.

    Responsibilities include:

    1. Developing test strategies, plans, scripts, and reports, subject to approval by relevant management.
    2. Direct engagement with project stakeholders to prioritize defects, with final authority resting with the customer to align with business requirements.

    Fundamental Tasks:

    1. Write test automation code, including maintaining and implementing test frameworks.
    2. Create test strategies, plans and other testing documents for changes to ensure appropriate test coverage, maximize defect detection prior to release, and confirm customer requirements and expectations are met.
    3. Lead, coordinate and participate in test execution, defect recording and capture of test results using agile and/or waterfall approaches as required.
    4. Document and store manual tests. Run bug triage/prioritization sessions. Summarize results of test execution into test reports, during and on completion of testing.

    Contract details:

    6 month initial contract
    Between 550 – 625 per day
    Inside IR35
    Hybrid – very occasionally on site in Somerset
    ASAP start
    SC Clearable / Cleared

    Required experience:

    This role will require an individual with proven test pedigree, with experience in:

    • Automation testing
    • Manual testing (specification & execution)
    • Automation frameworks (implementation/assisted implementation of)
    • Technical ability - Able to read code and write test code in .Net and TS/JS
    • Cypress (UI testing)
    • SQL (Test data)
    • Postman (API, possible e2e and performance testing)
    • .Net - Nunit/XUnit/Web Application Factory Typescript Angular
    • BDD/TDD
    • CI/CD DevOps Git Visual Studio Agile (worked within scrum/kanban team)
