    Description

    As an Assistant Care Manager you will assist the Care Manager in the running of the homes. You will support them with leading and managing the staff teams across the homes through methods of coaching and mentoring, delivering their check ins, annual appraisals and team meetings.

    Please note: , a holder of a full UK driving licence is preferred for this role.

    The role of Assistant Care Manager

    Using your experience of working in a special/complex needs environment with previous line management within a social care setting, you will be responsible for the completion of risk assessments for young people, community access, staff and the homes impact risk assessment.

    You will:

  • Gain the support, trust and confidence of colleagues by providing effective communication, consultation and involvement in key areas of activity and decision making
  • Minimise staff conflicts by ensuring that values, standards of behaviour and performance are understood and observed, and that problem areas are discussed and dealt with.
  • In conjunction with the Care Manager, be responsible for the completion of risk assessments for young people, community access, staff and the homes impact risk assessment.
  • Lead best practice in autism care and learning, which respects and values each autistic child and / or adult.
  • Promote the Prior Approach and the ethos of Priors Court through demonstrating autism best practice and care whilst supporting the young people and mentoring staff.
  • To quality assure the homes documents, and young person's care plan or "This is me" documents to ensure these are of a good standard and ensure a high level of care is delivered, and young people are well, clean, and appropriately dressed.
  • Liaise with the workforce team to ensure staffing for the homes are meeting the needs of the young people.
  • You will be expected to work Early and Late shifts (to include bank holidays) across a seven-day week 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Our Early shift is from 7am to 4pm and the Late shift is 2pm to 10pm.

    Qualifications and experience

  • Level 3 or 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care.
  • At least 1 years working experience in autism, special/complex needs environment.
  • Previous line management experience including performance management.
  • You Must also be able to demonstrate calm and resilient qualities when working under pressure with a reliable and flexible. approach with the ability to work early and late day shifts including weekends and bank holidays.
  • You Must also be able to support young people with their activities with Proven ability to communicate and deliver information to both individuals or groups.
  • To meet the requirements as outlined in the 'fit and proper person' statement in government guidance.
