    Data Centre Engineer

    Location: Acton, London

    Salary: £32,000 + £6,000 shift bonus

    Employment type: Permanent

    Our client is a leading independent technology partner and global integrator, with over 30 years of experience and an 800+ team of global experts. They specialise in providing end-to-end connectivity solutions that drive organisations forward. Due to continued growth, they require a Data Centre Engineer to join their team in Acton.

    This pivotal role involves managing and supporting the client's Data Centre cabling infrastructure, server and network hardware environment, and physical security controls.

    Shift Pattern / Working Hours:

    Working a 24x7x365 shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off, with shifts from 06:00 to 15:00 (early) and 14:00 to 23:00 (late).

    What you'll be doing:

    • change control.
    • incident management and resolution.
    • and tracking assets.
    • and escorting third-party vendors.
    • and implementing all IT hardware installations adhering to strict Data Centre Standards.
    • and decommissioning network hardware and structured cabling.
    • all relevant documentation and inventories.
    • all service requests within the agreed SLA.
    • compliance with employer and Client Health & Safety procedures.
    • compliance with Manufacturer, employer, and Client Quality Standards.
    • compliance with Clients and Support Services approved processes.
    • security procedures with reference to Data Centres are complied with.

    What experience you will need:

    • Data Centre toolsets that assist with support and management.
    • and governing over the DC.
    • closely with facilities providers to maximise energy efficiency savings.
    • managing the day-to-day operations of the Data Centre, including installations, decommissions, changes, and maintenance.
    • Data Centre-related service improvement projects.
    • configuration of servers (IDRAC, ILO).
    • finding and escalation.
    • stacking, moves, changes, decommissioning, patching.
    • Data Centre-related major infrastructure projects including power outages and replacements- Managing complex inter-rack/room cable infrastructure, providing a stable platform for IT infrastructure and desktop connectivity.
    • of working in high-risk environments and Data Centres.
    • of DCIM tools and standards (desirable).
    • of ServiceNow, Remedy, or other ticketing systems (desirable).
