We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Product Development team at Sartorius in the UK.In this role, you will be responsible for the electrical engineering aspects of product development and lifecycle support, conducting prototype and development activities.
This position is available full-time. You will be based at our Royston site, with hybrid working available.On a daily basis you will support the development of our products through knowledge of the performance requirements including all aspects of the product design criteria, product function and customer needs
Provide electrical solutions that provide AC and DC electrical power distribution, comms networks and distribution, electrical control systems
Use AutoCAD Electrical and electrical engineering principles in the creation of designs and solutions
You will ensure quality in a products design for usability, reliability, functionality, marketability and manufacturability and support efforts to test, verify and validate new product designs
You will ensure that all your electrical solutions are engineered and designed in accordance with the necessary regulations and standards, including EUs Low Voltage Directive, the UKs Electrical Equipment Safety Regulations and the USAs NFPA 79
You will be able to design to cost and design for manufacturability in order to support project leaders in achieving project objectives
You will work with other departments cross functionally, such as Project Management, Product Development, R&D, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Development Scientist teams
You will support the organisations IP strategy by documenting data and independent, unique and patentable ideas that results from experimentations and concept generation activities
You will have achieved a qualification equivalent to HND or higher in Electrical Engineering
You have experience in electrical product design and development with an understanding of the product life cycle ideally in laboratory automation, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment following ISO/IEC and/or GMP standards though candidates from other industries will also be considered
Hands on experience in electrical engineering in prototyping, engineering, design and testing
