We require enthusiastic, caring and motivated individuals to join our team as staff nurses to provide dynamic, high quality family centred nursing care to Children, Young People and Babies.

Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) / Paediatric Day SurgeryWard 4 is divided into a 6 bedded day surgery unit, and a 24 hour 10 bedded PAU that flexes capacity to meet the ever changing needs of our children.
We offer access to expert, evidence based and family centred assessment, treatment, and care.Ward 5 is an inpatient ward covering 0-16 years, offering Medical, Surgical, Oncology and Orthopaedic experience.
Across every area of the Paediatric Unit we continually strive, as a multi-disciplinary team, to offer high quality, evidenced based and holistic care to all of our children.
As a Unit we have an active preceptorship and an exciting education programme and we encourage all staff to undertake internal and external courses to ensure their continued development.
Opportunities include internal and external study days and University based courses such as Mentorship, Caring for children with Cancer or Diabetes, and Paediatric High Dependency modules.

RSCN/RN Child
Successfully completed a programme of study relevant to the delivery of day care services or has relevant transferable skills with a plan to undertake specialist qualification
Evidence of clinical experience within the day care field
Practice/assessor training
HDU module or equivalent
Knowledge of current policies relating to best practice within day care services
Demonstrates ability to place child and family at centre of care
Excellent consultation skills, able to assess, plan and implement care, supporting informed choice and gaining consent
Knowledge of relevant quality issues
Flexible approach to working hours
Good communication skills with children and families
Be able to communicate effectively via telephone, individual or group discussion
Be able to speak English as necessary to undertake the role.
