Would you like to work in a highly motivated and friendly Maternity digital team covering Bath, North East Somerset and West Wiltshire? This is an exciting opportunity to join our digital maternity team where you will work as part of a dynamic team, as the Digital Midwife. This is a new fixed term post.
The role of the digital Midwife is to identify changes to Millennium, epma and patient flow that are required to improve data capture. The Digital Midwife will be the gate keeper for system changes and the interface between design, technology and the users. You will be a good communicator with excellent IT skills and knowledge of computer packages and spread sheets.
Rated 'Outstanding' in our latest CQC review, our service consists of an acute and 2 standalone birth centres. We also have 2 community midwifery led hubs, a 24 hour Maternity Assessment Unit and are in the planning stages of an alongside midwifery unit at the RUH site. Main duties of the job
Working with end users and IM&T to identify and prioritise changes to the Millennium system and maintain the change request log;
Responsible for highlighting data quality issue pertaining to clinical areas and that they are resolved in a timely manner;
Subject matter expert in the clinical processes of Millennium to ensure that decisions around the design and usability of the system are based on a good, sound understanding of Millennium;
To be visible, accessible and support staff within the clinical areas;
Working closely with end users and the IT team to agree new "to be" processes, incorporating the new software functionality and any agreed service redesign;
Signing off change requests in conjunction with the clinical sisters/matrons and the release of updates to the live system;
Contributing to the identification of QIPP (Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention) schemes utilising technology to improve efficiency and save midwifery time;
Consulting with and engaging key stakeholders and representing Maternity at IM&T forums including project implementation groups and existing Maternity meetings;To motivate staff to the correct use of clinical systems to prevent data quality issues arising; this includes identifying training needs and will require sensitivity, empathy for the competing demands of the midwife role and the ability to build a rapport to foster willingness to learn;
