We currently have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Dorset community-based substance misuse service in Wimborne as an Administrator.
As an Administrator, you will provide administrative support to colleagues across the service and provide a friendly and efficient reception service, welcoming our service users and visitors.
This role is not your typical administrator role and whilst the role can be busy, it is also incredibly varied and rewarding.
As an Administrator, you will play a vital role in helping us to support our service users to make positive change.
General duties will include:
- Data collation, including maintaining databases and producing reports
- Organising and attending MDT meetings and notetaking
- Working within Microsoft Outlook to maintain diaries and coordinate appointments
- Liaising with pharmacies and partner organisations with reference to prescriptions
- Carrying out various health and safety checks in the workplace.
This role is an integral part of our team, as you will work closely with other administration teams across the service to support the day-to-day needs of - not only our service and partners - but also our service users and their carers.
Position Details:
This position is available on a Full-Time basis, working 5 days per week (35 hours) between Monday and Friday.
Our services are open from 9am until 5pm; however, start and finish times are flexible and can be agreed upon appointment with the line manager.
The contract is available initially on a Fixed Term basis until the end of October 2023; however there is a possibility the role could be extended or made permanent.

Who we are looking for:
This role would suit someone with some administrative experience, who thrives in a busy environment.
If you enjoy managing your own workload and are keen to learn more about working in a recovery setting, this is an ideal role for you.
In addition, you will also:
- Be an excellent communicator, able to build effective working relationships with a range of people
- You'll have good IT and administration skills and will be highly proficient at using Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Previous office admin, customer service or experience in a substance misuse setting would be an advantage but is not essential.
- You will also be happy to work in a structured way, being able to meet deadlines and priortise your workload.
