    Job summary

    We are looking for a full time, Clinical Specialist - Nurse to join our highly successful Middlesbrough Getting More Help Team ( CAMHS) based at The Rosewood Centre, Acklam Road Hospital, Middlesbrough.

    We are a forward thinking, creative team that encourages all team members to share their ideas to improve our service for young people and their families. The role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist is crucial in young peoples recovery and improving outcomes.

    The team are warm and friendly and are supportive towards each other and always open minded. As a team we are always approachable, down to earth and very professional.

    Main duties of the job

    You will work as part of an MDT that consists of Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing staff, OT, Art Therapy and support staff - all supported by a dedicated admin team.

    You will be responsible for managing a caseload and hold Care Co-ordinator/Lead Professional responsibility.

    You will offer assessment and treatment for the young people allocated to you and liaise with partner agencies.

    As clinical specialist - Nurse you will support staff with supervision, case discussions, reflective practice and regular in house CPD sessions.

    Non-Medical prescribers will be given the opportunity to utilise these skills in clinical practice.

    Person Specification

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD/ RGN (RNSC - CAMHS Only)
  • Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving
  • Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving
  • Postgraduate diploma in a subject relevant to the area Or be willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years and
  • Within the first year of being in post hold a recognised qualification in a governed therapy/advanced clinical qualification Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP (Independent Prescriber)
  • And have Equivalent clinical experience to that of a Post Grad Diploma/master's level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in CAMHS clinical area with significant experience (see below under experience), together with evidence of relevant CPD

  • Non Medical Prescriber Qualification.
  • DBT training and experience utilising the model with children and young people.
  • Knowledge

    Essential

  • Demonstrate clinical history taking and assessment skills in order to provide nurse led diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and motivational skills
  • Desirable

  • Specialist knowledge of working within a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency community team setting.
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Inter-agency and partnership working.
  • Significant experience working with patients with complex needs in the specialist field
  • Significant experience working with patients who display risk behaviours
  • Clinical risk assessment and management and its application in practice
  • Working collaboratively with service users their families and carers
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Quality improvement activities
  • Experience as a clinical supervisor.
  • Desirable

  • Experience of working within a range of services, including inpatient and community settings.
