    Early Years Leader - Ultimate Holiday Camps - Godstowe Prep School, High Wycombe
    Salary: £94.33 - £139.46 (Including Holiday Pay, based on a 9.5-hour day). Pay is based on age, experience and qualifications.

    Reporting to: Camp Manager
    Contract: Seasonal work during school holidays
    Hours: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm on weekdays. Full season or part season roles available
    Summary of Position
    Our Early Years Leader supervises the implementation of the Early Years program at the camp, creating a fun, engaging, and caring atmosphere. In addition to managing the setup, you will actively participate and lead structured sports, arts and crafts, and games for the Early Years children attending the camp – our Ultimate Activity Juniors. The activities provided will meet EYFS standards for learning and development, with a focus on involvement and excellence.
    With guidance and support from the Camp Manager, you will be the main point of contact for the 4- and 5-year-olds at the camp, playing a significant role in maintaining their well-being and delivering top-notch care. Collaborating with the Camp Manager, you will ensure compliance with all Ofsted regulations and serve as the primary communication channel for the parents of our Juniors.
    Our Early Years settings maintain a 1:8 ratio, meaning you may be operating independently or as part of a team. It falls on the Early Years Leader to organize, lead, and assist the rest of the Early Years team in providing excellent childcare consistently.
    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Supervise the delivery of an enjoyable and interactive program for the Ultimate Juniors at the camp, guaranteeing compliance with all EYFS standards.
    • Plan and deliver high-quality sports, arts & crafts, and games for the four- and five-year-olds, emphasizing participation, growth, and enjoyment.
    • Lead and support a small group of Early Years staff.
    • As the designated individual, ensure continual compliance with Ofsted regulations, directly liaising with an inspector during inspections.
    • Act as the primary contact point for the parents and guardians of the Juniors. This involves providing feedback on any observations or concerns to parents.
    • Handle various administrative responsibilities for the Juniors (e.g., sign-in/out, registration, etc.).
    • Coordinate with the Camp Manager and collaborate as a team to consistently prioritize the welfare of the children under your care.
    • Supervise and interact with the children during non-activity periods.
    • Ensure the provision of childcare always meets high standards to cater to the diverse needs of individual children from various backgrounds and developmental stages.
    • Uphold the Ultimate Activity Camp commitment to 'Inspiring Children Every Day' and exhibit behavior aligning with the company's expectations throughout your tenure.
    • Demonstrate high levels of energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism, serving as a positive role model for the children.
    • Ensure adherence to all camp policies and procedures by both yourself and the children in your care, including all health and safety, and safeguarding protocols.
    • Undertake other incidental duties (e.g., cleaning, equipment maintenance/ordering, etc.).

    Essential Requirements
    • Minimum education of Level 3 in Early Years/Childcare or Primary Education, with substantial experience working with 4- and 5-year-olds.
    • Demonstrated experience working with children and conducting activities, with the ability to tailor sessions according to age and skill level.
    • Enthusiastic, dynamic, and dedicated to nurturing children through play and activities.
    • Strong organizational and communication abilities. Candidates must feel confident leading a group of children and embracing responsibility.
    • Thorough understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and its application in a camp environment.
    • Effective communicator, with exceptional in-person customer service skills. Candidates should feel comfortable interacting with parents.
    • Proactive, conscientious team player, capable of adapting to changing situations and challenges at the camp.
    • Seeking a potentially demanding yet highly rewarding and enjoyable role during holidays, aiming to advance their career in childcare.
    Desirable Requirements
    • Some experience in management or supervision.
    • Prior experience overseeing a group of children independently.
    • Possession of a Paediatric First Aid (12-hour or 6-hour) certification.
