    DevOps Engineer - Beyond Printer

    Location Bar Hill, United Kingdom Job type Permanent Closing date 21/09/2023 Share: Apply For Vacancy This hybrid role would require you to attend our head office in Bar Hill, Cambridge approximately 1 day a week. About the role As DevOps Engineer at Domino, you will be responsible for creating and sustaining the Cloud deployment infrastructure and platforms to enhance and sustain our software development, testing and deployment environments. In addition, you will be actively involved in identifying and enabling improvements in approaches, workflows, and tooling for our software value-stream teams.
    Deliver value to the Beyond Printer software teams and wider R&D by contributing to the deployment and improvement of our Cloud and Connected services – both SaaS and self-hosted. Responsibilities
    • Support the value stream teams by solving problems and providing advice and help where needed.
    • Proactively collaborate both within the Beyond Printer team and with our Software Services team to help identify, add, and sustain automation capabilities to our Cloud platforms and deployment and test environments in line with our CI/CD processes.
    • "Beyond Printer?-related Azure Cloud infrastructure management and resource monitoring
    • Help develop our IaC strategy for Beyond Printer test and deployment environments.
    • Learn about new technologies and techniques for improving flow in a value-stream driven software development organisation.
    • Ensuring that we have the "right balance? of captured knowledge material describing the infrastructure and that it's clear, maintainable, and up to date.
    About you Essential
    • BSc (Hons) or equivalent in software / electronic engineering, science or technology OR industry experience of an equivalent level
    • Familiarity with using and configuring resources within at least one major cloud provider platform (Azure, AWS.)
    • Experience in using Automated deployment and provisioning IaC tools such as Terraform to create and maintain repeatable test and deployment environments within a Cloud provider (Azure, AWS)
    • Experience of database hosting and management with Cloud providers
    • Experience and awareness of security methods and protocols used to protect Cloud resources and services within a DevSecOps environment.
    • Experience of REST API automation
    Desirable:
    • Some formal training / certification in IaC toolchains such as Terraform
    • Some formal training / certification in Azure
    • Working knowledge of docker containers.
    • Experience / knowledge in Kubernetes for orchestrating docker containers, deployments, and scaling.
    • Interest in, and motivation to learn, best practices in both Agile and DevSecOps.
    • In-depth understanding of the importance and implementation of 'Infrastructure as Code'.
    • Background in software development and/or testing, especially automated testing.
    • Some experience in assembling, administering, and improving CI/CD pipelines.
    • Working experience and application of a scripting language such as Python.
    • Demonstrate competence in version control using Git and GitHub.
