    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Environment Lead to join our education team.

    The role of the Learning Environment Lead is designed to influence the quality of the clinical learning environment by providing support, educational input and development activities for Practice Assessors/Supervisors and students.

    The role aims to enhance the quality of the practice learning experience and positively contribute to the future workforce.

    The postholder will be required to promote high standards of care through role modelling the demonstration of clinical expertise, leadership and professionalism, whilst working along-side the senior team and training team, assisting in the delivery of effective programmes and the facilitation of high quality learning.

    A key element of the role will be to facilitate a positive learning environment in the classroom, simulation and clinical areas where student development is encouraged and supported, and talent is fostered and enhanced.

    To be the operational lead for promoting, developing and supporting the quality of learning environments which ensure the workforce is fit for purpose.

    Main duties of the job Participate in facilitating feedback to the practice placement area and HEI following student evaluation and ensure the feedback is used toimprove the student learning experience.

    Deliver the placement quality standards specified in the Learning and Development agreement (LDA) by HEE and the Practice Placement Agreement (PPA) with the HEI's

    Complete student data reports for HEE and other external agencies

    Take the lead for promoting, developing and supporting the quality and equity in the provision of the learning experiences and placements.

    Act as an interface between HEE and WHTH to prepare the Trust for quality monitoring of practice and practice visits associated with external organisations, such as the NMC, and any other on-going quality monitoring enhancement review process.

    Lead the collection of student feedback to the practice placement area and HEI following student evaluation and ensure the feedback is used to improve the student learning experience.

    Organise, deliver and monitor the Practice Supervisor/Practice Assessor (PS/PA) training, where necessary collaborating with Trust colleagues and HEI partners.

    Escalate any serious untoward incidents involving students as per current policy.

    To coordinate and be involved with educational audit cycles with HEI's and the Trust, auditing the learning environment.

    Line management responsibilities, includingmanaging the clinical skills facilitator for learners. Job description Job responsibilities To line manage the shortened course students/ apprenticeship/ return to practice midwives, including sickness reviews, recruitment processes and liaise concerns with the HEI.

    Compiling the Students/ Learners Off-Duties and Adding to E-Roster ensuring that all is fair and equitable.

    Organise Service Education Meetings

    Co-ordinate and provide the delivery of local student induction to ensure students are suitably prepared for practice placements as per mandatory requirements. Keep in touch days for returning students/learners.

    Ensure Practice Supervisors and Practice Assessors meet the requirements of their professional body for the role and maintain a live record of the PS/PAs in maternity.

    Work with Practice Supervisors and Assessors to ensure students receive induction and orientation to the practice placement area.

    Develop and facilitate initiatives for supporting and enhancing student learning in practice in response to need and to improve the learning experience.

    Facilitate student experience focus groups and work with the Practice Development Team for final placement 3rd Year students development programme.

    Develop systems for supporting and disseminating information to the PS/PAs and clinical managers.

    Contribute to curriculum and other relevant course planning within the HEIs, ensuring the practice component of both local needs and national standards are met.

    Act as the main link in collaboration with the Link lecturers and clinical staff for students issues arising whilst in practice to ensure timely and appropriate response.

    Foster a learning environment within the practice placement areas, ensuring staff are encouraged to develop and update their clinical expertise in the care of women and their families.

    Support and gather students and PS/PAs feedback regarding the learning environment themes.

    To ensure that priority issues for the Trust such as dignity and respect, patient safety, patients first are included in Practice Supervisor and Practice Assessors activity.

    Deliver a variety of teaching sessions including up to date research based clinical skills supporting students and staff. Person Specification Your application will be scored against the Job Description Essential
