    About The Role

    We have an exciting opening for a skilled Senior Design Engineer with expertise in temporary works design to join our London engineering team. If you are eager to take on more challenges, guide junior colleagues, enhance your project management skills, and advance your career, then this role is perfect for you. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a key role in leading and managing temporary works design projects.

    Responsibilities:

    To excel in this role, you will be accountable for, among other duties, the following:

    • Lead a diverse design team effectively.
    • Ensure that the team's design output aligns with company protocols.
    • Initiate and lead discussions on technical design matters within the team.
    • Execute complex multidisciplinary designs and checks with precision, utilizing team resources effectively to meet CDM 2015 requirements.
    • Review briefing information, choose appropriate design codes and standards, and oversee their efficient application in design, including BIM knowledge.
    • Utilize your knowledge to mentor junior team members for their development.
    • Act as the primary technical contact for clients and provide proactive technical support to client site teams.
    • Ensure that designs meet project and company commercial requirements, assist in estimating, and manage design changes efficiently.
    • Identify opportunities and issues promptly to ensure project targets are met.

    About You

    • BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
    • Chartered or working towards Chartership with ICE or IStructE.
    • Minimum 7 years of post-graduate experience in consultancy-based design.
    • Advanced knowledge of Civil Engineering design principles, especially Temporary Works.
    • Experience in construction projects and construction techniques application.
    • Proficiency in British and European design codes and standards, particularly BS5975:2019.
    • Extensive experience in civil engineering design software for structural and geotechnical design.
    • Skilled in UK Health and Safety legislation, notably CDM 2015.

    • Positive, proactive team leader with effective management abilities.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate ideas clearly.
    • Well-organized with good problem-solving and prioritization skills.
    • Ability to ensure team meets project deadlines.
    • Estimation knowledge for Civil Engineering design projects.
