Job DescriptionYou will provide site-based engineering support to minimise downtime and ensure uptime, and availability of the installed automated equipment on site.
Through a professional engineering approach and a commitment to service quality, you'll support the shift Team by utilising a broad range of skills taking a proactive approach to improving performance and reliability.
You will directly report to the Shift Automation Manager, while being also mentored by the Senior Engineer. You will be working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (rotation of days/nights)PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance and repair of all onsite automated equipment.
Carry out planned repairs and reactive repairs of automated material handling equipment including, tote conveyors, spiral conveyors, sorters, shuttles and robotics.
Fault-finding and diagnosis of mechanical and/or electrical faults.Respond to automation faults and breakdowns in a timely manner ensuring minimal downtime.
Prioritise system faults and optimise uptime and availability of onsite automated equipment.
Complete all reports in line with requirements using CMMS and Microsoft software packages.
Comply with health and safety legislation as priority focusParticipate in the delivery, installation, commissioning and testing of upgrades and enhancements.
Ensure optimum levels of onsite spare parts are maintained.Support site meetings as required.
Mentor, train and advise junior members of the team.
QualificationsRecognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC or equivalent qualification in engineering discipline (multiskilled preferable)Experience of working with automated material handling systemsAbility to work at height.
Capable of understanding Mechanical, Electrical and/or Electronic technical manuals and drawingsProven competence in H&SExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsBasic understanding of control systems and techniquesAbility to work in a time critical environmentEffective time and workload management skillsPC literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAdditional InformationAn opportunity like this at Frasers is for the fearless.
