    Job Description


    Are you a seasoned Project Director seeking exciting opportunities to work on cutting-edge Life Science, Health, and Tertiary Education projects that push boundaries and involve collaboration with researchers, manufacturers, and academia? If yes, we are looking for a Project Director to join our Cambridge team and contribute to projects across East Anglia. You will be part of a dynamic team of experts dedicated to innovation and excellence.


    As a Project Director, you will lead an integrated team in key aspects of large, complex projects in the Life Science, Health, or Tertiary Education sectors. You must have experience in consultancy or client organizations, preferably in the Science or Health sectors, and be capable of taking a lead role in medium to large projects independently. Line management support will also be part of your role.


    The role will involve overseeing the entire project lifecycle from inception to completion, including business case development, design, procurement, site delivery, and commissioning phases. Your responsibilities as a Project Director will include:

    • Leading Project Management Commissions for successful project delivery
    • Undertaking Line Management and supervisory responsibilities
    • Contributing to the management of project management team outputs
    • Engaging constructively with the construction and design team to mitigate risks
    • Developing strong client relationships
    • Managing design, tender documents, and construction contracts
    • Exploring business development opportunities
    • Providing leadership within the project management business
    • Managing project finances and resourcing
    • Formulating fee proposals
    • Supporting Project Managers through Professional Chartership
    • Participating in recruitment and retention activities
    • Ensuring completion of all relevant training

    Qualifications


    Professionally Qualified – ideally in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying

    Chartered Status with RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or equivalent institution

    Experience working with stakeholders/clients on Strategic Development Briefs

    Experience in complex, multi-disciplinary project teams


    Preferred Qualifications:


    Relevant Post Graduate Qualification

    APM affiliation preferred

    Experience with Prince 2 or MSP

    JCT, NEC 3/4 Contract Administration knowledge
