JobSummary:

We are lookingfor an enthusiastic committee administrator to join our team toprovide comprehensive administrative support and constitutionaladvice to members and officers on the council s decisionmakingprocesses ensuring high standards of service and governance areupheld.

KeyDuties/Accountabilities:

To administerformal and informal meetings of the Council as allocated inaccordance with agreed working practices and with the minimum ofsupervision.

To deal withall associated administrative matters and followupactions.

To provideprofessional support to the Monitoring Officer to management andcolleagues in the delivery of relevantservices.

To ensure thatthe decisionmaking process works efficiently and effectively and inaccordance with the Council sConstitution.

To providecover and support across the Governance and ScrutinyTeam.

To provideprofessional advice and guidance to members officers and other keystakeholders on the Council s decisionmaking arrangements andproceduralmatters.

EssentialExperienceRequired:

Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills and the ability to carryout research and to collect collate and present information to ahigh standard of accuracy and presentation even when underpressure.

Diplomatic andtactful with excellent customer services skills able to deal withsensitive and highly charged politicalsituations.

Ability tocompetently use computerised record systems including MicrosoftWord and Excel and email systems and to be able to identify andevaluate how IT can improve the delivery of supportservices.

Experience ofcommittee administration including responsibility for managingmeetings producing agenda and minutes and advising on proceduresandguidelines.

Experience ofmodern and innovative ways of communicating withstakeholders.

Use of ModernGov(desirable).

Additionalinformation tonote:

The Council smeetings are held in the evening therefore a flexible approach andregular attendance at evening meetings is a requirement of thispost.

Required toprovide cover for colleagues out of core office hours at shortnotice.
