Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust (NGH) and Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KGH) formed a hospital Group; University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group on 1 July 2021.

We are currently undergoing phased organisational change and the restructuring of our digital services.

The fixed term contract is for 24 months.


Our vision is important for our patients as it delivers the infrastructure that enables seamless care across pathways, preventing delays and putting them at the centre of their care with access to, and control over, their own electronic health records.

A core part of our strategy for delivering our vision is the implementation of an Electronic Patient Record (EPR). This comprises a series of modules, each of which forms a separate project within the overall programme.

We are seeking an experienced Systems Support Specialist to provide end user support to existing patient and clinical systems and be involved in the configuration, testing and implementation of new EPR solutions.

The fixed term contract provides time-limited and funding-limited resource to deliver the exciting EPR Programme.


As a Systems Support Specialist, you will be responsible for investigating issues raised by end-users on the supported systems, ensure that access is granted according to Trust policy and ensure that documentation and records are up to date and accurate at all times.


We are looking for a flexible, self-motivated and organised individual with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritise workload and deliver to targets and deadlines.


You must be able to demonstrate analytical thinking and have the ability to work through problems to a resolution, with experience in communicating effectively with colleagues, end users and third parties.


Working hours are Monday to Friday 08:30 to The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to meet the demands of a 24/7 organisation, as well as occasionally work outside of the core working hours to support configuration changes and system upgrades.
