    Description


    Summer InternThe Taihe Summer Internship Program seeks to draw together passionate international relations aspirants into a diverse environment where they can assist with entry-level tasks whilst simultaneously shadowing and learning from an assigned mentor aligned with the candidate's area of study.

    Strong communication skills, a fast learning curve, and a keen interest in the international relations field are key to this role.

    This position is responsible for a wide range of activities, often dependent upon individual candidates' specific skills, area of study, and interests.

    Mentors are assigned to candidates according to specialty at the start of the summer and act as a de-facto manager for the duration of the internship.

    Flexible or part-time work schedules can be created for candidates who have academic or other miscellaneous obligations that would inhibit full time work.

Remote positions are provided access to a communal office workplace but are allowed to operate in locations they prefer. Remote employees may be occasionally requested to attend forums, events, and other functions, for which expenses will be covered.

    Basic QualificationsAn in-progress or completed bachelor's or master's degree related to International Relations, Economics, Business, Policy, Journalism, or a similar field.

    Must be able to communicate in English as a working language.
    Preferred SkillsStrong learning curve and organizational skills.
    Keen interest in international relations, economics, and policy. An understanding of current geopolitical events is a plus.
    Ability to communicate and cooperate with a diverse team hailing from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds.
    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to question assumptions and critically evaluate paradigms.
    Ability to handle remote responsibilities in a timely fashion without micromanagement.
    Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and approach new situations with a positivity and constructive curiosity.
    Familiarity with Microsoft office suite (Office, PowerPoint, Excel) Adept at managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
    Skills including video and photo editing, data analysis, automation, financial modeling, and other "miscellaneous" proficiencies are a plus.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Specific duties and assignments will vary depending on the candidate's area of interest, background, available time, and prior skills.
    Analyze and evaluate current news events.
    Assist with media monitoring and reporting.
    Research, edit, and copywrite reports and summarizations with the assistance of a mentor.
    Assist with data analysis and cleaning.
    Assist with video and photo editing.
    Assist with proofreading and editing internal and external materials.
    Attend monthly People Leadership team meetings as a youth member of the People Leadership team.
    Accompany and shadow an assigned mentor to meetings, acting as note-taker and understudy.
    CompensationAll Taihe Summer Internships are salaried positions, with pay starting at 15 USD or equivalent currency per hour.

    An employee's salary may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.

    The range listed is just one component of Taihe's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, paid time off, and region-specific benefits including time off for relevant cultural observances.
