- £78-£87 Per Day

  • March Start**We have teamed up with a brilliant new school in the Bury St Edmunds area who are looking for dynamic, hardworking and professional individuals to become part of their school. The school caters for children with Special Educational and Social, Emotional Mental Health needs of various ages. As such, the school are seeking staff who are experienced with deescalating and dealing with challenging behaviour.
The school has exceptional facilities designed to all the pupil's needs.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be consistent with the class helping pupils on a 1:1 level and moving with them throughout the school while they attend various classes and activities on and off-site.

SEMH schools prioritise the well-being of their pupils therefore classes like music, life skills, food tech, sensory breaks and swimming are seen as a vital part of the timetable.

An individual who loves being creative and inspiring young people would be ideal for this role.


Job description:


  • Interacting with SEN pupils on a personal level, assisting them with their social, emotional, and educational goals.
  • Assisting with personalised learning and aiding the progress of the pupils
  • Communicating professionally with other staff members in order to facilitate the safeguarding, wellbeing and progress of the pupils.
  • Working with pupils 1:1 and in small groups

Person specification:


  • A motivating and reliant individual with a passion for working with SEN pupils.
  • You will need to be a good role model, a proactive and empathic individual.
  • Be flexible to changing situations, be calm and make good decisions.
  • Able to positively contribute to the pupil's day and school environment
  • Be an energetic team player able to care for and look after SEN pupils.
  • Understand the individuality of every pupil and cater to their needs.
