Set within landscaped gardens in Cheshire, Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal (close to Manchester) offers a range of complex mental health inpatient services.
There is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Practitioner Psychologist (must be HCPC registered) to join a dynamic Psychology department, working across the adult Psychiatric Intensive Care Services (PICU).
This is a full time vacancy however can be offered as two part time roles.The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the psychological model across the wards.
The role is extremely diverse and involves assessment, formulation, a range of brief and impactful interventions, risk assessment, indirect working, consultation and training to the wider staffing team, and supporting psychological approaches to care.
There will also be opportunity to provide clinical supervsion to other members of the psychological therapies team.Suitable candidates will have interest in, knowledge of and experience of working psychologically with complex client groups and risk.
Some post qualification experience is desirable although newly qualified psychologists will be considered.There are excellent CPD and training opportunities for employees within this service, and funded and accredited training opportunities will be available and agreed as part of the role (subject the completion of a probationary period).
The psychology department also has strong research links with local Universities, and provides placements for trainees from a number of different courses on both core and specialist placements.
