    Description

    AICL, our in-house underwriting business is at key point in its growth plan, and your work as our new Pricing Analyst will contribute to helping our pricing capabilities become the market leading standard.

    As a graduate or recent graduate, you will come from a mathematical background, bringing with you an understanding of how to organise data and identify trends.

    With a detailed onboarding plan we will introduce you to the world of pricing and motor insurance setting you up for a successful career.

    In this role, you will work closely with your immediate pricing team to develop and monitor pricing models; prepare data for modelling, select, and apply appropriate statistical techniques and make judgements and recommendations for price changes.

    Collaboration is important for us at Saga and you will regularly interact with colleagues across both personal lines product portfolio and the wider business.

    Main ResponsibilitiesAs one of our Pricing Analysts you will be accountable for the following areas;

    Contributing to pricing model development and granular pricing analysis
    Using machine learning and identifying new data sources to modernise pricing models
    Monitoring performance of pricing models and amending where required
    Developing management information and performing ad-hoc analysis to help inform key business decisions.
    Becoming proficient in Radar, Emblem and Excel, and using where appropriate in analysis
    Accurately building, testing, and deploying pricing changes
    Identifying, understanding, and explaining emerging trends in the Motor market
    Collaborating with other team members on project work, demonstrating enthusiasm and contributing actively to discussions.

    The Ideal CandidateWe are delighted to be able to offer study support for the successful applicant, therefore a strong mathematical education is essential.

    A in either Maths or Further Maths A-Level
    1st or 2:1 in a mathematical or equivalent degree

    As a Pricing Analyst you would be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

    Strong numerical and statistical capabilities.
    Knowledge of statistical modelling with GLMs and/or machine learning.
    Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    Knowledge of modelling software, such as Radar, Emblem, or similar systems.
    Experienced in some programming languages such as SQL, R and Python
