- Provide HR support to the School being the first point of contact for any queries from staff.
- To liaise with the Head of HR on all HR matters and for guidance/support.
- Maintain and update relevant HR information systems with employee information including new starters, contract amendments, and leavers. Ensuring that all information is accurate.
- To administer and monitor probationary periods for Academic Staff and action accordingly.
- Minute HR meetings e.g. disciplinary, grievance and flexible working requests. HR Practice
- Support management and staff through disciplinary and grievance procedures as directed by the Head of HR.
- Support the coordination of performance review activities.
- Work closely with Line Managers and SMT members to offer an efficient HR and Compliance advisory service.
- Work with Senior Management to ensure satisfactory onboarding and induction of new staff. Case Management
- Manage cases in line with compliance requirements.
- Support Line Managers and SMT with ongoing staffing cases with guidance from the Head of HR.
- Liaise and work with external advisors e.g. insurers, lawyers, and auditors, to obtain specialist advice when necessary to support on complex queries. Record Keeping
- Ensure that all personnel files are maintained.
- Record and monitor absences across the School.
- Ensure that the SCR and associated documents are kept up-to-date and compliant with ISI and KCSIE regulations at all times.
- Present the SCR to the Board of Governors each term, partaking in audits, and talk through the changes made to ensure the School remains compliant.
- Audit and review compliance records, recording findings and following up with management to ensure any identified issues are rectified. Recruitment & Selection
- Support the HR & Recruitment Coordinator with recruitment campaigns, practices and associated administration where necessary.
- Conduct regular audits on the pre-employment checks as recommended by KCSIE, ISI and Safer Recruitment practices.
- Ensure that all necessary checks are carried out and records are maintained for visiting speakers, coaches, Governors, volunteers and VMTs.
- Conduct audits on the right-to-work checks completed within recruitment campaigns, ensuring satisfactory documentation has been provided and if necessary case manage until any issues are resolved.Nottingham High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and any appointment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure as well as any other pre-employment checks.
