    Description


    Due to the challenging nature of highly technical projects, this role requires an autonomous, self-starter with the ability to lead from the front.

    The successful applicant will be an effective communicator with a flexible and adaptable mindset, capable of working effectively in a team environment.


    Core Role and Responsibilities:


    The Mechanical Engineer's core duties shall include:Responsibility for primary building services including compressed air, chilled water and DI water plant, gas-fired steam boiler and LTHW plant, clean/dry room dehumidification and general HVAC plant, LEV and VOC extract systems, fire detection and suppression systems.

    Responsibility for development and implementation of safe working procedures in accordance with recognised industry standards and approved codes of practice including FMEA and Risk assessment Co-ordination, control and safe management of external contractors including contractor management Preparation of mechanical services design specificationsImplementation and ongoing management of Building and Energy Management Systems Develop, control, and ensure delivery against the project budgets including profit, preliminaries and procurements.

    Implement detailed programmes and schedules which allow accurate monitoring and reporting of progressSecure and manage the appropriate resources to deliver the project / scheme effectively and efficiently in a professional manner to ensure successful delivery within project constraints.

    Implement and manage the development of the Project Quality Plan, Trade Quality Plans, and Defect rectification proceduresEnsure there is a successful and smooth handover of the projectEssential Qualifications and Experience :
    Bachelor's Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Site / Building Services Demonstrable experience in a relevant site services or mechanical engineering roleKnowledge of relevant Health, Safety and Environmental compliance requirementsStrong PC skills including MS applications, MS Project and AutoCad / Revit or similar applicationsStrong problem-solving, analytical and presentation skillsDesirable (but not essential) requirements : Knowledge and experience of ATEX, HAZOP, COMAH, LOLER, EPR, Legionella ManagementClean / Dry Room Production environment experienceUK Driving licence holder
