Our weekly pay is based on a 6-day week. This is to account for preparationfor arrivals over the weekend such as collating tests and induction of newteaching staff. This means they may ask you toassist with weekend arrivals and departures or hold the emergency phoneon their day off.
You are entitled to statutory holiday entitlement of 5.6 weeks holiday prorata. The salary will depend on applicant's experience, size of centre and thenumber of students at the centre.
There is much more to a Bayswater Summer course than just the AcademicProgramme.
While you are only responsible for overseeing the English lessons, it's a goodto be aware of what else is happening in the centre.
As you can see, students are only in lessons for half of each weekday.Eventhough the students only have their lessons in the morning or afternoon, most centres have classes both morning and afternoon for different sets ofstudents.
As a DoS you will be expected to use the Bayswater Summer curriculum toassist teachers in delivering interesting and dynamic classes throughouttheir stay.
Along with the day-to-day duties of running the academic side of the centre, you will also carry out at least two observations for each teacher - first as adrop-in, and secondly with a more formal observation.
You'll also holdContinuous Professional Development sessions and meetings.Of course, on a summer school programme, your schedule can vary from oneday to the next, so this timetable is an example and may not reflect anaverage day at your centre.
At Bayswater Summer we use our own in-house coursebooks. In addition, students will complete Project Work every day, giving them thechance to utilise the grammar and vocabulary from their first lesson andapply it to a practical task.
