    At Wynne Systems we're passionate people who build software that empowers our customers to strengthen and grow. Our customers are the biggest companies in the rental and construction industry. We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile IBM-i Systems Engineer with a strong background in IBM-i server management including performance tuning, networking and system diagnostics. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation, optimization, and automation of our IBM-i systems, as well as giving some coverage for other INFRA support. You will be working with a leading software company specializing in the rental equipment vertical market. Wynne Systems is part of the Volaris Group, an organization which acquires, strengthens, and grows vertical market technology companies enabling them to be clear leaders within their focused industry.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Manage, monitor, and maintain IBM-I systems, ensuring their stability, security, and performance alongside our hosting Companies.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and network issues, coordinating with cross-functional teams as needed.
    • Help Implement best practices for system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
    • Work with development to improve software release processes.
    • Learn the key aspects of our product software stacks.
    • Be part of on an on-call rotation outside normal working for system support coverage.

    Basic Qualifications.

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 5+ years technical experience as an IBM-i Systems administrator. (V7r4 is currently being used).
    • Relevant certifications in system administration on IBM-i.

    Technical expertise in one or more IT related fields including:

    • IBM-I system administration / Security / Administration.
    • IBM-I performance tuning.
    • IFS administration.
    • DB2 for IBM-i administration
    • Automation for IBM-I.
    • RPG programming skills.

    Preferred ADDITIONAL SKILLS

    • Linux or Window's administration experience.
    • Bash / Powershell experience.
    • RentalMan software experience.

    TRAVEL

    • Global travel at times may be required - up to 10%.

    WORK LOCATION

    This position is remote, with an office in Elland, West Yorkshire, available should it be preferable.
