Description
This position performs a variety of duties related the the university's purchasing process by providing information related to proper procedures in the procurement of goods and services, and technical assistance for the purchasing systems.
This position will also assist with policy, procedure, system implementation, campus training, end user support, coordinate information form campus departments, and act as the control center for policies and procedures.
1-2 years of experience in procurement, accounting, bookkeeping or similar experience.2 years of experience in procurement.
Demonstrated understanding of computer-based procurement practices, processes and systems.
Coordinate the purchasing process-requisition, PO, order placement.
Monitor purchases to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
Work closely with the accounts payable department to ensure a smooth Procure-to-Pay process.
Assist with the setup of new vendors and database management
Provide support to customers in the processing and procuring of goods and services.
Assist with training end users on purchasing systems, policies, and procedures
Assist in direct purchases as directed by the Director of Procurement Services
Act as a liaison between departments and vendors in scheduling of delivery of goods and services
Assist in planning special purchasing functions
Occasional back-up support of purchasing card coordinator functions for department coverage
