    Description

    The role

    We are currently recruiting for a Senior Associate to join our specialist Transactional Tax team. The successful candidate will represent clients on a wide range of high value, international and domestic M&A, joint ventures, private equity, financing and other transactions, will collaborate closely with DLA Piper's transactional teams, and will excel at providing high-quality commercially focussed tax advice, bringing further value to deals, while allowing our team to advance transactions and meet the objectives of our clients.

    This is your opportunity to become an integral member of a growing UK tax practice, forming a key hub for the global Tax Group, and to work closely with clients including major multinational corporations with high profile global brands, governments, sovereign wealth funds, private equity and hedge funds, investment and commercial banks, real estate funds and companies, sports and entertainment companies and large investors.

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working as part of our highly regarded global team, our successful candidate will enjoy a broad diet of work and advise on matters including (but not limited to);
  • Mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and reorganisations.
  • Structuring of domestic and cross‐border business operations and supply chains.
  • Group financing structures.
  • IP development and exploitation strategies.
  • Design and implementation of domestic and cross-border tax solutions

    • ABOUT YOU

    We do not set upper or lower limits of PQE for any of our vacancies. We have however given an indicative PQE as an approximate guide for applicants. Candidates who have between 5 – 7 years PQE are likely to have the right level of knowledge and have gained the right level of experience needed to be able to undertake this role.

    The ideal candidate will:

  • Be either a solicitor qualified in England & Wales or Scotland, or a solicitor qualified in a Commonwealth jurisdiction with significant UK tax experience
  • Have gained tax experience working in a national or international firm
  • Possess strong technical skills, with an international awareness and focus to their work
  • Be able to demonstrate an excellent academic record and the ability to manage more junior team members
  • Be able to create and deliver sustainable, high quality client service whilst also considering a client's wider business objectives
  • Be keen to get involved in business development and help drive the UK tax practice forward
  • Be able to handle multiple priorities, working to sometimes conflicting timescales in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Build trust and rapport to develop effective relationships, internally and externally
