About the Role -:


The Design Pre-construction Specialist is responsible for carrying out Pre-Construction surveys as per Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, for all categories of work issued by Cadent to the CMO Team at Trinity.


Identifying and providing solutions for anything that will impact the safe and successful completion of gas main replacement and gas distribution construction activities.

For example.

hazard and environmental identification, property types, street works/traffic management scenarios, customer and stakeholder negotiation, utility, land and environmental searches etc.


The individual will be required to record and enhance survey data using various programs and equipment as well as strong communication skills when interacting with internal and external stakeholders and customers.

The individual will also have drive, enthusiasm, good daily diary management and have keen focus on ensuring delivery of quality information.

Midlands


Hours of Work: 40 Hours per week
  • Monday to Friday


Responsibilities - but not limited to:

  • Carry out Pre-Construction site surveys as per Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 covering all aspects of the work including customer and stakeholder impact assessment.
  • Gather thirdparty information regarding existing utilities, historical and environment, private landowners and customer information.
  • Record survey data using software and databases as required.
  • Ensure existing health, safety and environmental hazards and issues are documented with proposed control measures.
  • Produce and enhance existing design drawings with information gathered.
  • Arrange and lead required meetings with customers, stakeholders impacted by planned works.
  • Survey and propose what types Temporary Traffic Management can be used to complete construction works in highways
  • Produce handover information and attended scheme handover meetings with operational staff and other internal stakeholders.
  • Attend project review meetings and action any design improvement initiatives.
  • Update of thirdparty utility plans as sites progress.

Knowledge, experience, and qualifications required:


  • Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015,
  • Health & Safety at Work Act 197
  • Environmental and Historical impacts


  • Knowledge of NRSWA

  • Safety of Street Works (Code of Practice)
  • Field based surveying requirements
  • Utility industry or Gas distribution engineering experience.
  • A full driving licence.
  • NRSWA Competence preferred (operative or supervisor)
