JUNIOR /ASSISTANT GARMENT TECHNOLOGIST

The role

REPORTING TO THE SENIOR GARMENT TECHNOLOGIST

To assist the Garment Techs to achieve and maintain the highest level of service and quality for all our customers and to ensure brands standards are always met.

To assist the Garment Techs to set up and promote standards to the highest achievable quality level for all factories
To assist the Garment Techs To develop production orders for specific customers within the critical path criteria, to the correct specification, packaging and delivery
To ensure all products supplied are 100% safe and do not pose any risk to the user
To ensure brand is fully compliant with current legislation in all areas of garment production and supply

To assist the Senior Garment Techs in the following roles
Development of garments from design concept to production
Supplying the Costings Dept with testing and packaging requirements at Initial Sample request stage
Carry out PP meetings with designer and customer.
Completion of Risk assessment and if applicable, New Product form
Completion of supplier Component form and analysis of information to ensure compliance
Prepare samples for customers, recommend improvements / amendments and discuss buyer's requirements
Carry out fit meetings at customers if required
Prepare size specs and graded specs and measurement guides for both customer & factory.
Discuss manufacturing techniques with the factory to ensure customer standards are maintained and maximum efficiency is achieved
Finalising test requirements following fit approval
Approval of graded artwork & positioning
Approval of final production samples for both brand and customer and giving approval to ship
Inspection of bulk goods in warehouse
Assess fabric test reports ensuring individual customer standards and all legal legislation is met.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
1 + years experience in Garment Tech role
Qualification in garment technology / product development or relevant Garment Technologist experience
Understanding of garment construction
Understanding of fabric quality and performance
Understanding of industry standards and legal requirements
Good organisational skills and time management
Good IT skills
Ability to work under pressure in a team and independently
Ability to communicate with overseas factories in a clear and concise manner
Positive attitude and approach

Job Types:
Permanent, Full-time

Salary:
Up to £23,000.00 per year
