    Reporting to: Chief Designer

    Department: Andretti Cadillac at Andretti Global

    Background:Led by racing legend Michael Andretti, the team fields multiple entries in INDYCAR, INDY NXT, IMSA and Formula E. The global racing enterprise boasts over 250 race wins, four INDYCAR Series championships, five INDY NXT titles, one Indy Pro 2000 and one USF2000 championship, and has captured victory five times at the famed Indianapolis 500-Mile Race. The team is now looking to expand into the pinnacle of motorsport through our Andretti Cadillac Team.

    Job description:We have an opportunity for a Lead Mechanical Designer to join the Andretti Cadillac Team at the new Silverstone Facility. In this role you will be designing mechanical components and assemblies. At Andretti Global, we aspire to be the absolute best in every aspect of our team.     Principal Accountabilities

    • Provide engineering solutions by developing layouts and schemes for major mechanical assemblies, ensuring optimal design and functionality.
    • Take ownership of all projects run by your group, highlighting risks and opportunities to the Head of Mechanical Design.
    • Creation of CAD models and drawings for analysis and detail design.
    • Support your group to provide complete information for production processes, including materials, techniques, and quality standards.
    • Provide guidance and supervision to designers in your group, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality work.
    • To provide technical support to the mechanical designers and ensure best design practice is achieved.
    • Support the design group to meet the overall performance and delivery targets.
    • To support the development of future cars working with the Heads of Mechanical Design.

    Requirements

    • A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering) or similar
    • Experience in the motorsport industry is preferred.
    • Thorough knowledge of mechanical manufacturing, materials, and analysis
    • Strong leadership skills with solid experience of technical management and team development.
    • Ability to plan and manage your group's workloads.
    • Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email.
    • Ability to prioritize in a time pressured environment and manage personal deadlines
    • Self-motivated, innovative, and comfortable working independently, while meeting challenging deadlines.
    • Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.)
    • Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
