    Mechanical Engineer - Equipment
    Energy industry experience required (Oil&Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Offshore...), Nuclear preferred,

    The position is for a Mechanical Equipment Engineer within the Joint Design Office (JDO) at Hinkley Point C (HPC), the biggest nuclear plant construction project in the UK The role involves reviewing and accepting engineering queries related to equipment across various buildings on the site.

    The engineer will collaborate with site contractors, construction teams, quality teams, project management teams, and design teams to ensure smooth operations and adherence to project requirements.

    Responding to General Queries, Non-Conformances, Change Request, and Exemption Requests originating from the MEH Contractor on site, with the support of the Responsible Designer or site Experts when needed,
    Provide adequate oversight to ensure the Nuclear Safety and Environmental Regulation requirements are met,
    Challenge design decisions so that engineering and design aligns with the project strategy.
    Assess technical risk and subsequently address this risk,
    Maintain a strong relationship with the EPR Engineering (Responsible Designer),
    Report operationally to an Engineering Lead.
    Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline,
    Experience in Equipment design, installation and/or commissioning,
    Experience applying multi-disciplinary technical knowledge within the nuclear industry,
    Knowledge of the construction / installation industry,
    Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements,
