    The Opportunity:

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the finance team in the Institute for Regeneration and Repair (IRR) at the University of Edinburgh. IRR is a multidisciplinary cross-college institute composed of three world renowned research centres delivering scientific research from concept to clinical and commercial product within a world leading laboratory complex.

    We seek an enthusiastic, collaborative and adaptable finance administrator to join our dynamic team. The institute has two functional finance teams, a grants team and a transactional and chart of accounts team. The role although based with the transactional team, would work closely across both teams and therefore requires excellent networking skills to ensure a consistent approach and an efficient and effective customer service. This role will oversee all internal finance transactions within the institute for Regeneration and Repair. You will be the main finance contact for all internally recharged costs for the institute including both shared university research facilities (SRFs) charges and charges for individually procured internal products and services.

    This post is full-time (35 hours per week) however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working, however this role does require a majority on-site working pattern.

    Your skills and attributes for success:

  • A relevant vocational qualification and relevant work experience
  • Finance and/or administration experience in an office environment.
  • Proven experience of working effectively in a team.
  • Ability to work independently, to use initiative and prioritise own work.
  • A proficient user of standard office systems including MS Office (Excel and outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new skills, particularly digital skills i.e. The university uses a bespoke ordering system that requires ongoing learning commitment.
