A key member of the Leadership team, this role will be accountable for shaping, developing, and implementing an organisational L&D strategy that meets the needs of the business and its people.

Working closely with the Chief People Officer, Executive andFunctional & Management team to design, manage and review learning and development solutions that meet the needs of individuals at all levels, whilst working towards wider goals of organisation development, culture change, and continuous improvement to supportthe business to achieve its strategy.

This will require 2-3 days onsite near Pontyclyn.


Key Accountabilities_:
_


  • Build on, develop, and implement the leadership, organisational & change development frameworks that deliver a highperformance culture aligned with the organisational values, vision, and 5year strategy
  • Launch leadership programmes in line with the new leadership framework
  • Linked to annual talent reviews, provide development interventions to develop the future talent and capabilities required to deliver the business objectives
  • Provide a roadmap of costeffective development solutions, linked to the corporate levy and other innovative ideas
  • Lead the development of inspirational leadership & management initiatives to enhance current and future potential capability
  • Work in partnership with the Head of HR, Senior HR leadership team, and business partnering team to implement and embed the leadership, and organisational development change plans
  • Provide teambuilding support to ensure it supports the culture we are trying to create
  • Design, implement, and manage the performance management processes, including appraisals reviews, personal development and probationary reviews
  • Design, implement, and manage the Graduate, Apprentice, and NVQ schemes
  • Implement and manage the process of assessing and reviewing training needs on departmental experts, functional departments, and a onetoone basis through the development of an annual business Learning and Development Plan
  • Identify budget requirements and implement a learning and development strategy
  • Lead, inspire, and develop the OD, L&D to ensure that it is motivating and a core driving force of business direction, influencing senior management to gain commitment to the implementation of L&D initiatives
  • Source, support, manage, and assess external training providers to ensure quality and value for money in compliance with organisational processes
  • Implement, identify, and manage processes and propose, innovative costeffective, and efficient solutions to development needs and evaluate the effectiveness and impact on corporate objectives of all learning and development initiatives
  • Drive, influence, advise and support the cultural and people aspects of organisational change, and business improvement initiatives within the business to improve business efficiency and people management allowing for flexibility and growth
  • Become an integral part of the Leadership team, developing effective working relationships, influencing, and challenging the team on their personal style
  • Support and implement an engaging, proactive, and effective twoway engagement programme
  • Develop professional relationships with internal customers and agree on service delivery requirements and standards towards the achievement of corporate and departmental objectives
  • Monitor and propose initiatives and advise on matters reacting to workforce demographics, talent management, and succession planning, to develop a workforce plan in line with the 5year Plan.

Knowledge & Experience:


  • Degree qualified with a proven track record of driving and leading effective change in fastmoving, bluechip organisations
  • Experience in managing significant organisational change including cultural change
  • Experience in managing and delivering significant change projects across a matrix organisation
  • L&D background with a senior track record, of developing and implementing leadership development, succession planning and high potential programmes
  • Able to work at a strategic level, but also wellversed in implementing practical solutions to get things unblocked
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in effective challenging and influencing at the Senior Manager/Director level
  • Coaching skills
