Assistant Business Manager| £400 Day Rate (Umbrella) | 9-months | Hybrid, London


For the largest and most exciting transport projects in Europe, we are recruiting an interim Assistant Business Manager for the Technical Services Directorate.

Reporting to the Senior Business Manager, this role can be worked hybrid from London or Birminghamand will be for up to 9 months.

The interim Business Manager will track performance against target and will support management of projects enabling delivery of key business programmes.

This role will support the management of headcount budget and on key businessprogrammes across finance, resource management, procurement, and workforce planning.


Main Duties:


  • Support the Business Manager to develop and collate planning, monitoring, and tracking finance, project, and headcount/ resource performance
  • Support in the tracking of process and reporting against metrics and KPIs against the business plan
  • Support in the management of governance processes, updates, and milestone tracking
  • Support HR monitor progress against the workforce plan
  • Manage projects in line with centrally defined processes and frameworks
  • Work with Procurement and Commercial to support management of contracts
  • Support in Directorate reporting, working with PMO colleagues and Project Controls to integrate reporting with the programme reporting cycle.

Person Specification:


  • Experience working as an Assistant Business Manager, tracking performance against KPIs
  • Experience supporting business plan development
  • Project management ideally in a regulated environment
  • Knowledge of reporting techniques to report on performance against KPIs
  • Knowledge of business processes such as RAP
  • Staff management experience
  • Finance, Headcount, Resource Management experience
