An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual with excellent leadership skills to join Speciality Medicine as Ward Manager on Avon 4 at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Avon 4 is a 21 bedded Acute Medicine ward that delivers high standard of care and support to acutely ill patients.
The role of the ward manager is a challenging one, and suitable candidate should be able to demonstrate evidence of creating a culture of support and learning and demonstrate significant band 6 experience to work with both patients and staff to deliver high standards of care to our patients, support families / carers.

To promote a positive approach to new challenges and creative ways of working.To ensure effective training and educational programmes are available by liasing with appropriate personnel to meet the training and educational needs of nurses in the clinical area.
This post carries continuing responsibility for the management of the Ward, including the deployment and supervision of staff.Ensure that you are familiar with, and comply with, all relevant policies. Registered Nurse on sub part 1 of the NMC professional register.
Evidence of significant Continuing Professional Development.
Evidence of management experience / training.
NMC recognised Teaching / Assessing qualification.
Relevant experience at Band 6 within related speciality.
Complaints handling
Experience at band 7
Can demonstrate practical application of quality standards within the clinical setting e.g. Care Quality Commission, NICE guidance. Able to demonstrate effective management of staff processes and performance. Experience and knowledge within the specialty or related field. Able to promote equality, diversity and rights. Fully aware of health and safety practices.
