Overview:
The role is directly responsible for buying the dairy and egg portfolio with an approximate annual spend of c€70million.
Working at both strategic and operational level, the role holder will identify and deliver sourcing projects and category management to mitigate risk and add value to the organisation.
Responsibilities:
Category Management
Develop and execute procurement category strategies for the core category using the 5-step strategic sourcing process delivering value across Quality, Service, Risk, Innovation and Cost with a spend responsibility of c€70million.
Manage the annual budget and monthly forecasting to identify Total Price Variance (TPV) through category insight for monthly market and price movements with value-adding commentary to inform the business of qany material changes to procurement and project plans.
Value Creation
Sourcing from European and Global markets as appropriate for current and NPD products and provide market knowledge and insight for responsible categories and countries.
Use market and product expertise to generate value engineering and productivity plans (part of the Nomad Foods Fuel for Growth Programme) to take cost down or cost out from the category.
Spend Authorisation
Commit to purchasing contract up to €1million and obtain approval for contract commitment above €1million in line with the company Delegation of Authority process.
Makes tender award decision aligned with procurement operating priniciples and ensuring communication strategy is clear and delivered to appropriate stakeholders.
Negotiation
Negotiate with suppliers to get the best cost for the contracted spend as well as agreeing new supplier terms and conditions in line with Group Procurement Policy.
Supplier Management
Idenitifes and selects new suppliers aligned with the agreed sourcing strategy.
Manages the interaction with existing suppliers to ensure all aspects of Safety, Assurance, Quality, Service, Cost and Innovation are adhered to by the suppliers.
Stakeholder Management
Build relationships (own and manage) with key business stakeholders to build consensus and alignment. Ensure constant supplier to Manufacturing Units working in partnership with raw materials planner in local sites.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years working as a buyer with experience in FMCG food and drink industy in a global or panEuropean role.
- Ideally degree qualified or equivalent.
- CIPS qualified or working towards CIPS qualification.
