Dimensional & Visual Quality Inspector – Engineering Components / Fabrications & Sub-assemblies

Salary + Bonus + Overtime paid at Enhanced rates - Based Peterborough

5D Recruitment is proud to be working with a leading engineering based outside Peterborough. They are market leaders in designing and manufacturing bespoke, special purpose machinery. They Supply to a variety of industries including the power generation, and automotive markets, they have long-lasting agreements with some of the biggest companies all over the world. Due to this rapid growth, they are looking for a Quality Inspector to join their ever-growing team.

What the role will include:

· Visual and dimensional inspection of components and sub-assemblies.

· Communication with both internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to resolve quality issues.

· Reporting of non-conformances and detailing the reasons why so that can be inputted on to the MRP system.

· Being the point of contact for production staff on the shop floor to deal with any quality issues.

· Identify and champion improvement activities.

· Providing verification support for the fabrications, assemblies, and the finished products.

Requirements

What we are looking for in a candidate:

· 2 years' experience minimum as a QI.

· Understand quality processes.

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and SOP's.

· Proactive approach to problem solving.

· IT literate – able to complete the relevant technical documentation / reporting.
