Due to growth and expansion of services, this is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and dynamic Teacher.
We are looking to appoint a well-qualified, proactive and enthusiastic teacher to join our experienced and specialist team. Are you able to recognise and relate to the hobbies and special interests of our students and use these as the foundations to build positive relationships and curricular engagement? The successful candidate will be an excellent practitioner and will teach in a topic based approach, where there is a strong focus on phonics, communication, language and vocabulary, and English and Maths. They will be responsible for their own Learning Group and actively support students' social, emotional and academic developments embedded within the 24-hour curriculum. They will have drive and understand the need to plan personalised pathways that meet the individual needs of students both academically, socially and therapeutically.
The successful candidate will need to be able to organise learning outside the classrooms through learning opportunities, community visits, school outings or other events. Demonstrate the ability to build good relationships based on trust with children and their families/ carers. Be highly skilled in behavioural management, with the ability to manage confrontation and challenging behaviour. Team working skills to liaise with staff and other professionals is key. Opportunities for success are provided through a diverse program of bespoke individual learning pathways and life skills across the 24-hour curriculum, which serve to develop resilience, skills and accreditation for life-long learning, happiness, and an improved quality of life. The school has a strong ethos and culture, built upon firm foundations that underpins all our work on improving quality of life outcomes for all our students and their families, through our strong focus on keyworking, developing relationships with students, and partnerships with parents and carers.
