    Job Summary

    An exciting opportunity is available in the Pharmacy Department at the Southend location for a motivated and dedicated pharmacy technician. We are seeking to hire a Band 4/5 Pharmacy Technician, registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. As part of our team, you will play a key role in providing a wide range of pharmacy services, including Dispensary services, Ward services, Procurement, Trials, Homecare, and Oncology services.

    The ideal candidate will be a committed and industrious individual who can work independently and escalate issues when necessary. Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities are a must.

    Individuals without ACT qualification will be considered for the position and, upon successful recruitment, will start at Band 4 with the opportunity to progress to Band 5 after obtaining the ACT qualification. Applications from Trainee Pharmacy Technicians expected to qualify in the summer of 2023 are welcome.

    Main Duties of the Job

    • Provide a medicines management service across various specialty wards
    • Collaborate with the near-patient dispensing team to supply medication to patients
    • Communicate with doctors and nurses to address medication discrepancies for improved patient care
    • Offer medication advice to patients
    • Act as a role model and contribute to the training of new staff members
    • Support other pharmacy department services, including Dispensary, Procurement, Oncology, Trials, and Homecare
