    IT Support Engineer – Ballymena – Permanent

    REED Technology are delighted to partner with a excellent manufacturing organisation who are seeking an ICT Support Engineer to manage the day-to-day IT Operational / Helpdesk. Working as part a team the successful applicant will provide support for all IT and Communications solutions as well as taking an active part in the development of existing and new IT systems.

    Responsibilities:
    • 1st Line Technical Support / Helpdesk Function for all IT users.,
    • Install, configure, troubleshoot, support and maintain ICT equipment, e.g. PCs, Servers, Smart Phones, Routers, Switches, Printers, Copiers, etc...
    • Install and upgrade applications and databases onto PCs and Servers, working closely with suppliers where necessary.
    • Provide support for business applications, troubleshooting software and hardware liaising with suppliers where necessary.
    • Provide advanced support for Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (365).
    • Provide assistance with the development of reporting requirements using Epicor EDA
    • Maintain and develop Microsoft Active Directory, including Group Policies.
    • Maintain and support Email, Web browsing security, Anti-Virus systems and Windows Update Services.
    • Monitor the server Event Logs and report/resolve problems where necessary.
    • Ensure any backup problems are dealt with immediately.
    • Maintain a call logging system for all support jobs and project work.
    • Maintain the inventory register of all equipment.
    • Maintain the telephone lines and telephone systems (Avaya)
    Essential Criteria:
    • Third level IT qualification or equivalent.
    • Networking experience with Active Directory, Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019 Server. Microsoft Hyper-V
    • Hardware troubleshooting and repair.
    • Confident to use initiative to solve problems.
    • Ability to maintain good working relationships both with internal team members and suppliers
