    Position: Transformer Design Engineer


    Company: A reputable firm located in the northern region of England is seeking a skilled Transformer Design Engineer to join their team.


    Job Overview: This role involves providing technical guidance and support to clients in acquiring new transformers. The main focus is on specifying and designing transformers to meet customer requirements.


    • Key Responsibilities:
    • Develop detailed technical designs and specifications for transformers up to 300kVA capacity.
    • Assist customers during design reviews, electrical calculations, evaluation of drawings, and meetings.
    • Support clients in managing transformers throughout their operational life cycle.
    • Investigate transformer failures and perform analyses for rewinding.
    • Create cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
    • Contribute to bid proposals and tender documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
    • Update cost databases and estimation tools regularly.
    • Provide mentorship to junior Engineers.
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and address technical concerns.
    • Conduct site visits to gather project requirements.
    • Prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns for projects.
    • Handle administrative tasks such as expense reports and timesheets.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transformer-related roles.
    • Expertise in transformer design, construction, and manufacturing.
    • Proficient in electrical design calculations for transformers.
    • Familiarity with transformer testing and acceptance procedures.
    • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
