    Job Summary:


    We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager to lead our clients transportation team and manage our fleet of 40 vehicles.

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of transportation operations, including route planning, vehicle maintenance, driver management, and compliance with safety regulations.

    This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of logistics and transportation management.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and motivate a team of 35 drivers and transport planning team on a daily basis.
    • Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
    • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of a fleet of 40 vehicles, including trucks, vans, and other transportation assets.
    • Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle usage, and maintenance costs to optimise fleet efficiency and minimise expenses.
    • Plan and optimise delivery routes to maximise efficiency and minimise transportation costs.
    • Coordinate with dispatchers and drivers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, including guidelines and safety standards.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with vehicle safety requirements and driver qualifications.
    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and safety violations, and implement corrective actions as necessary to prevent reoccurrence.
    • Develop and manage the transportation budget, including expenses related to fuel, maintenance, staffing, and equipment.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve transportation efficiency and reduce expenses.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Transport Management CPC Qualification
    • Proven experience in transportation management, with a track record of successfully leading teams and managing fleets.
    • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    A salary of between £50-60,000 is on offer dependent on experience.
