Teaching Assistant for Year 4 Class

North Chesterfield Area

Full Time

Our small primary school is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Year 4 class on a long-term basis.

You will be working alongside an established class teacher and supporting pupils with a range of abilities, including several with additional needs such as ADHD and Autism.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be an integral part of the class team, providing support to the teacher and pupils to ensure a safe, positive and stimulating learning environment.

You will be expected to work collaboratively with the class teacher, contributing to planning and delivering activities, assessments and evaluations.

You will also have the opportunity to lead small group activities and work with individuals to provide focused support.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the class teacher in planning, delivering and evaluating learning activities that meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs.
Work with individual pupils and small groups to provide focused support and facilitate learning.
Help to maintain a positive and safe learning environment for all pupils.
Contribute to assessments and evaluations of pupil progress and communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders.
Attend relevant meetings and training sessions to keep up to date with best practice and policy.

Essential Requirements:

Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Understanding of the needs of children with additional needs, such as ADHD and Autism.
Relevant qualifications or training in Teaching Assistant or Special Educational Needs.
